The Flames won the first game of a doubleheader with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 16-6, but couldn't get above the .500 overall mark as they lose the nightcap 15-3. Jake Paulson, the Horizon League's top pitching prospect per Perfect Pitch, held the Flames at bay most of the day. The number #9 hitting team in the country was held to just 5 hits in the second game. UIC's record falls to 14-15 overall and 9-6 in the HL. The Flames' next game is a midweek tilt against Northern Illinois in DeKalb before coming home for a big 3-game weekend series against first place Wright State. The series begins on Thursday and goes through Saturday because of the Easter holy day on Sunday. Also on Thursday, April 17, Curtis Granderson Stadium will have its official grand opening ceremony.
